Hahnemühle Photo Rag Matt Baryta combines a 100% cotton base with a white shade and a matte baryta finish. Its very fine, discreet texture gives the finished print its surface character. Printed areas show a slight sheen while unprinted areas remain matte. This is not the high-gloss Photo Rag Baryta.

Is Matt Baryta the same as Photo Rag Baryta?

No. Matt Baryta is a 308 gsm matte baryta paper. Photo Rag Baryta is 315 gsm with a high-gloss baryta finish.

Will the printed and unprinted areas look identical?

The manufacturer describes a slight sheen in printed areas while unprinted areas remain matte. Allow for that difference when planning exposed borders.

What should I check before ordering for my printer?

Check the selected format, 308 gsm weight, thickness and loading path against your exact printer. A suitable ink coating does not establish that every size or roll will feed in every model.

Profiles, media settings and handling

For Photo Rag Matt Baryta, match the ICC profile to the exact printer, ink set and paper and follow the profile’s supplied driver media settings. A driver profile does not establish RIP support.
