Why we like it
500 gsm matte inkjet paper for substantial fine art prints.
Hahnemühle Photo Rag 500 combines a 100% cotton base with a white shade and a matte finish. Its lightly defined felt structure gives the finished print its surface character. The substantial 500 gsm sheet requires particular attention to printer thickness and feed-path limits.

Choosing this paper
Photo Rag 500 is a substantial cotton matte sheet. Its 500 gsm weight makes printer thickness limits and the correct loading path central to selection; a printer accepting another Photo Rag weight is not sufficient evidence.
Where it works well

- photographic presentations

Questions before you print
What distinguishes it from Photo Rag 308?
The 500 gsm version is a much heavier sheet; the 308 gsm paper is a separate product. Match the selected paper to the printer’s thickness and loading limits.
Is this a gloss paper?
No. It has a matte coating, a white cotton base and a lightly defined felt structure.
What should I check before ordering for my printer?
Check the selected format, 500 gsm weight, thickness and loading path against your exact printer. A suitable ink coating does not establish that every size or roll will feed in every model.
Profiles, media settings and handling
For Photo Rag 500, match the ICC profile to the exact printer, ink set and paper and follow the profile’s supplied driver media settings. A driver profile does not establish RIP support. Apply colour management once and make a small test print before a full run. Keep fingers away from the printable surface and protect prints from dust and abrasion.
