Hahnemühle Torchon combines a 100% alpha-cellulose base with a bright white shade and a matte finish. Its coarse, strongly structured felt mark gives the finished print its surface character. The coarse texture is a visible part of the final print; test small details before committing to a full edition.

No. It is a matte paper with a coarse, strongly structured felt mark.

Is it cotton or OBA-free?

The base is 100% alpha-cellulose and the manufacturer reports moderate optical brightener content. It should not be described as cotton rag or OBA-free.

What should I check before ordering for my printer?

Check the selected format, 285 gsm weight, thickness and loading path against your exact printer. A suitable ink coating does not establish that every size or roll will feed in every model.

Profiles, media settings and handling

For Torchon, match the ICC profile to the exact printer, ink set and paper and follow the profile’s supplied driver media settings. A driver profile does not establish RIP support. Apply colour management once and make a small test print before a full run. Keep fingers away from the printable surface and protect prints from dust and abrasion.
